15yards

Roughing the passer

Hit after the throw. Often a first down.

What you see. The quarterback has already thrown, and a rusher hits him late.
Typical result. 15 yards. It is often an automatic first down.
Easy mix-up. Facemask is twisting or pulling the mask, not a late hit on the quarterback.
On the field. Pass rushers and the quarterback. See defense, offense, and the plays.

The hit comes after the ball is gone.
